The public is invited to participate in a shoe drive to raise funds for Lockport Presbyterian Home.

In support of fundraising, First Presbyterian Church, All Saints Parish, St. John the Baptist Church, Dale Association, Lockport Family YMCA, Lockport Public Library and Office County of Niagara for Aging all serve as drop-off points for new and lightly worn shoes.

Funds2Org will send the shoes to charities around the world that support small businesses in developing countries – and donate to Lockport Presbyterian Home based on the weight of the shoes collected at each location. The donated shoes will be sent to developing countries to enable poor people to start their own businesses.

Lockport Presbyterian Home, a non-profit organization, has set a goal of collecting around 2,500 pairs of shoes by July 31. The donation she receives from Funds2Org is intended for crafts, bingo and other gaming supplies, entertainment, transportation to outings, catering meals and other requests from residents of the community. care for the elderly.

Shoes can be dropped off at the home, 327 High St., anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, or at any of the drop-off locations listed above.

Lockport Presbyterian Home will be holding a bake sale on July 31, the last day of the shoe drive, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
